Faded Glory Series, (2025)
Faded Glory is a collection of works made from old blue jeans. The process of cutting and collaging these banners was inspired by my grandfather, who often used a super glue called Shoe Goo to mend his jeans when he could no longer see well enough to sew.
The banners interrogate different aspects of the patriarchal identities of my family and their ties to the wider cultural norms. I investigate masculinity, a do-it-yourself attitude, alcoholism, stubbornness, religion, and the inevitability of aging.
